Snow City all set to enthrall young and old alike
Bangalore as an entertainment and tourist destination has everything, except the beach and the snow. But now, Bangalore has a Snow City to give young and old alike an experience like never before, away from the routine of water and amusement parks, multiplexes and malls.
If you have been to the Himalayas, you will know what it is to be in nature’s lap. Alternatively, if you have been to Dubai’s SkiDubai, you will know what fun it is to be on the snow, albeit artificial.
Now, Snow City offers snow thrill here in the backyard of the city, on par with international standards. The highlights of the Snow City in Phase I are: an indoor snow theme park. Phase II: an exhibition of ice sculptures and a laser show. Snow city is in the heart of the city – Fun World, opposite TV Tower, J.C.Nagar.
Snow City has a 12500 sft of 33’ height of indoor snow dome with temperatures maintained at sub zero degrees centigrade. Entire snow area is filled with snow made out of drinking water and air, which is eco friendly and edible too. Snow area is built with a mesmerising ambience of being in a Snow Fairy Land with Snow Castle.
Visitors are provided with overcoat with cap/hood, gloves, boots at free of cost, on returnable basis, to sustain the -5 degree centigrade in the snow area. Since the ambient temperature outside would be as high as 35 to 40 degree centigrade and inside temperature would be – 5 degree centigrade, visitors go through the entry lounge, where the comfort temperature is maintained between 18 and 24 degree centigrade and then through the air lock room, where the temperature is between 5 and 15 degree centigrade, before entering into the snow area. The acclimatization process is reversed while exiting the snow area.
Snow City will be open 365 days between 10.30 AM and 9.30 PM On weekdays, the entry fee per person (above 30” height) is Rs. 390 and on weekends and holidays Rs. 490.
